This Technical Session was organised by PIARC Committee 4.1 on Resilient Pavements. Committee members presented the work accomplished during the 2020-2023 work cycle on the following issues:
- Measures for improving resilience of pavements
- Use of recycled materials in pavements
- Innovative pavement maintenance and repair
- Road monitoring based on Big Data
This session also presented the best articles identified through PIARC’s international call for papers on call topics 39 (Reducing the carbon footprint of road pavements), 40 (Innovative maintenance methods and strategies) and 41 (New or innovative pavement materials).
Tetsuri KAJI (Japan), winner of the PIARC Prize "Young Professionals" supported by Canada-Québec, presented his paper at this session.
